A most unwelcome sight on new year’s day was the remnants of a fire on the foundation of the tower in the old church.  Heat from fire has a detrimental effect upon stonework of course, apart from leaving an unsightly mess.

The wood used for the fire is identical to that which lies near to ‘ground clearance work’ on the perimeter boundary of Perran Sands holiday centre to the south of the footpath leading to the old stables.
